The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is one of the world’s greatest heritage railways, taking passengers on an 24-mile journey through the stunning scenery of the North York Moors National Park. The railway runs from the market town of Pickering through Newton Dale to the seaside resort of Whitby.

The line passes through Goathland station, made famous worldwide as “Hogsmeade” in the Harry Potter films. With 5 stations along the route, the railway offers stunning moorland views, deep forests, and dramatic changes in landscape. The railway operates one of the most intensive heritage railway services in the UK, with multiple trains daily during peak season.

The NYMR is home to a large fleet of steam and diesel locomotives, beautifully restored coaches, and period station buildings. Special events include dining trains, steam galas, and 1940s weekends.
